Record notes in real time.

Log notes against live timecode while you shoot. Type them or hold to talk, then hand your editor markers that drop straight into Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve and Final Cut Pro.

Free for one project and five recordings. No card needed.

Stamped the moment you react

The timecode locks on your first keystroke, or the instant you press the mic. A note that takes ten seconds to say still lands on the frame that mattered.

Locked to your Tentacle

Jam sync with a Tentacle Sync E over Bluetooth in a couple of seconds. TCnotes free-runs from there and quietly re-syncs while you roll, so your notes match the camera.

Markers for every edit bay

Export a take as an XML sequence for Premiere Pro, a marker EDL for Resolve, FCPXML for Final Cut Pro, or a spreadsheet. Colors and notes come along.

Questions, answered

What is TCnotes?
TCnotes is a web app for logging notes against live timecode during a shoot. Every note is stamped to the exact frame, and each take exports as markers for Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve or Final Cut Pro, so the edit starts at the moments that mattered.
Who is TCnotes for?
Producers, directors, script supervisors, DITs and anyone beside the camera who needs to flag moments for the edit. It suits interviews, documentaries, sports, events and commercial shoots.
How do I import TCnotes markers into Premiere Pro?
Export the take as a Premiere Pro XML sequence, then choose File > Import in Premiere Pro. You get a sequence with every note as a marker at its timecode.
How do I import TCnotes markers into DaVinci Resolve?
Export a marker EDL. In Resolve, right-click a timeline and choose Timelines > Import > Timeline Markers from EDL. Each note lands as a colored marker at its timecode.
How do I import TCnotes markers into Final Cut Pro?
Export FCPXML, then choose File > Import > XML in Final Cut Pro. It adds a project with a marker at each note.
Does TCnotes work with Tentacle Sync?
Yes. TCnotes jam syncs with a Tentacle Sync E over Bluetooth in a couple of seconds, free-runs from there and re-syncs every few minutes while you record. Bluetooth timecode needs Chrome or Edge on a Mac, Windows PC, Chromebook or Android device.
Do I need a timecode generator?
No. Without one, TCnotes runs from your device clock. Start at time of day to match cameras set to free-run time of day, start at zero, or enter any starting timecode.
Which frame rates does TCnotes support?
23.976, 24, 25, 29.97 drop frame and non-drop, 30, 50, 59.94 drop frame and non-drop, and 60 fps.
Can I take notes by voice?
Yes, with Pro. Hold the mic button and talk. The note is stamped the instant you press, then transcribed to text. The audio is discarded once it has been transcribed.
Does TCnotes work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. TCnotes runs in the browser on phones, tablets and computers, with nothing to install. On iPhone and iPad, use the clock, since iOS browsers do not support Bluetooth timecode.
How much does TCnotes cost?
The free plan includes one project, 5 recordings, every export format and Tentacle Sync. Pro is $5 a month for more projects, unlimited recordings, voice notes and teams with shared projects.
